EXPERIMENT 03 / COMPARISON WORKBENCH

TWO MECHANICS.
DIFFERENT QUESTIONS.

Choose a pair to compare the timing, interaction and explanation each mechanism tends to create. These are tendencies, not promises about every game.

Choose the pair

Two players discussing a tabletop choice

A comparison
needs context.

Two games with drafting can feel completely different if one has simultaneous selection and the other has long individual turns. The label describes an ingredient, not the finished experience.

Use these comparisons to ask better questions: How long do I wait? What information is public? Does a choice affect me now, later, or both?

Try changing only one side

Keep worker placement selected and compare it first with drafting, then with deck building. Notice how the timing of a removed option differs from the timing of a future draw.
